An essential feature of the XBRLeXtensible Business Reporting Language standard is its extensible nature. This element comes from its integration in the XMLeXtensible Markup Language standard.

Two scenarios can arise:

1. The taxonomy must be created from scratch, without other constraints. In this case, we will extend the XBRL specifications.
2. An existing taxonomy must be extended, in a given context, such as ESEF by ESMA, or the ones defined by the SEC. In this case, we will extend the specifications of the taxonomies.
